SNDO in artistic residency in PAF (France)

Dear all...
This time I am sending our news from PAF (Performance Art Forum) an amazing place in France were the SNDO 3 are doing a residency with choreographer Nora Hellman. This new alternative for artist to work and research was created by Jan Ritsema and was officially open last summer. It is/was an old convent, and right now some parts are under construction, but still this place has an amazing atmosphere. The chapel is just a kind of "oasis" in the middle of doors, stairs, corridors. This place invite you to work,to think, to to research, to collaborate and to be alone ... but over all you can just determinate by yourself your own conditions to work.
Noha,Giulo, Ji-Hae,Daniel,Pablo,Yurie and Emma together with Nora are having a very interesting time here..hopefully we can come back in the near future.

Check the Blog of the group in residency...in case you are curious to know what is going on here:

choose different modes in doing that.

She shortly would like to present the observed principles in connection to the used theory of habitus made by P. Bourdieu, which she had applied in her work. She tried to extract principles of learning, performing and teaching improvisation in order to see them within everyday praxes. At the same time she was observing where and how improvisational principles already take part in our daily praxes and we can later apply them to our professional praxes.

Ibrahim Quraishi is our guest this coming Friday

Dear SNDO students and teachers,
As you know Jeroen was the moderator for the lunch lectures until the last Block. From now on Gabriel has invited me to take over this event and I am very pleased to take on this new task passed on to me from Jeroen's hands!.
Please let me know when do you want to present something so we can adjust the schedules and plan accordingly. Remember that this is the space for showing whatever is keeping you busy nowadays . Also teachers can use this space to show results from workshops and any other manifestation you want to do!
We are having more and more students interested in this friday event, so please keep inviting your colleagues from others departments.
For my first day moderating the fridays lectures, I am having this Friday the 23rd of March Ibrahim Quraishi as my first guest, right after Milan Loviska presents and share with us a DVD about his last performance.

1:30 talk with Ibrahim Quraishi
Ibrahim Quraishi is a conceptual artist, writer and artistic director of Compagnie Faim de Siecle since 1998, who over the last five years has created numerous site-specific installations and performances in festivals and galleries throughout Europe, Asia and US. His pieces are grounded between the interaction of visual arts forms, digital media and live performances that explores various cultural and social conflicts while consciously examining the realities of migration, dispossession and the dynamics of cohabitation within the highly rigid socio-political spheres of imagined communities.

2:15 Milan (guest student) will show a DVD of his last work

Time: 1: 30 Friday the 23 of March,
Space: Check 609 or 602

Please don't miss it!

Warm greetings,
Maria Ines
